# Connecting Android Scanner

It is possible to use the Booqi.me Android app with special android scanners that have a built-in QR scanner.

To make this work, follow the same steps you would normally do [to connect a phone](/en/article/de-mobile-scan-app-using-1p34vuh/).
However, there are 2 additional steps you want to go through now.

1. In the app, go to: Settings > and check the “Use a handheld scanner” option. This will allow you to scan with the barcode reader instead of the camera.
2. On your hand scanner you need to make sure that after each scanning operation an entry is made. Often this is already set by default but if not you can do this by going to the App called “BCR Settings”. There you click on “Format” then click on “Suffix” and there you place a <enter> and click on “OK”.

Your scanner is now set up correctly.
