How to use coupons
Within Booqi.me you can enter your own discount coupons. To do this you can go to "Coupons" on the left and click "Create" to make a new coupon.
In the following screen you will have the options to configure your own coupon. The main details are described here.
Name: this name is only for your own internal use.
Code: This will be the code itself that your customers need to use to apply the discount
Type: This is the configuration of how you would want to apply the discount, you will have the following options
- Percentage: use this to give a percentage discount to your customers.
- Fixed amount order: Here you can set a fixed amount per order, in this case each order will get the same value discounted
- Fixed amount product: Here you can set a fixed amount per product, if you set it to 1 and someone buys the product 4 times they will receive 4 euro discount.
Value: Type here the amout or percentage you want to set for the discount.
On the next tab you can set some restrictions for your discount coupons. The main details are described below:
Please note that If any of the fields below are left empty, that means that the function will be disabled.
Products: You can set any specific product you want the discount to be applied to. The discount will only be applied to these specific products.
Subscriptions: Same as products but here you set the subscriptions that you want the discount to be applied to.
Valid tm: Set an end date for whenever the coupon won't work anymore
Minimum order value: If the order does ntreach the minimum amount the discount will not be applied
Customer groups: You can insert the groups here if you want the discount to be applied to a specific customer group
Maximum number of tickets for which the discount code applies: This is most of the time used for free tickets. Let's say you give out a 100% discount but only want a customer to be able to buy 4 tickets with the discount (and not an unlimited amount) you can set a maximum here. Please note that the discount will always be applied to the cheapest tickets bought.
On the next tab that is called "Limits" you can set how many times a coupon code can be used. Leave this empty if you want the coupon to be used indefinitely off course within set requirements. You can also set it to 1, in this way you can give out personal codes.
Most of the time when you want to give out personal codes you want to do this in batches. This brings us to our last tab "Batch".
Whenever you have configured the settings of your coupon you can use the Batch option to basically multiply the coupon to any desired amount.
In this way you can easily create a batch of 1000 coupons all with the same configuration.
Batch prefix: you can choose which letters you want the coupon code to start with. This is mostly for internal reasons so you can quickly identify from which campaign a coupon code commes from just by looking at the first letters.
Amount: type here the amount of codes you want to generate.
